About

From one heartbeat to a whole community.

Whole Hearts in Motion was founded from one simple belief: when people come together, we can change lives. After surviving heart disease, our founder Lindsay wanted to transform her journey into something that brings hope, connection, and purpose to others.

Hi, I'm Lindsay!

Heart disease has always been part of my family. My dad had Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), and we lost him to the disease when he was 39 years old. It wasn't until I was pregnant with my daughter that I found out that I also carried the HCM gene.

I was diagnosed with HCM shortly after and, over the years, underwent two septal myectomies, a mitral valve replacement, and developed complete heart block, leaving me fully paced. There were moments that were incredibly difficult, moments that were frightening, and moments that made me appreciate just how precious life really is.

As hard as those experiences were, they also changed my perspective in the best way. They taught me not to take ordinary days for granted. They reminded me that every walk, every laugh, and every memory with the people we love is a gift.

That's what inspired Whole Hearts in Motion. I wanted to create something that brings people together in a joyful way while honoring those whose lives have been touched by heart disease. Whether you've experienced it personally, supported someone you love, or simply want to be part of something meaningful, I hope you'll feel welcome here.

My story isn't one of tragedy - it's one of gratitude. I'm grateful for the doctors who cared, for my family who stood beside me, for the chance to watch my daughter grow up, and for every opportunity to give back. If my journey has taught me anything, it's that our hardest seasons can become the beginning of something beautiful.

Thank you for being here. I hope we have the chance to meet at a race, a walk, or one of our community events someday. Until then, thank you for being part of this journey with me.

- Lindsay

Why HCM matters

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) is one of the most common inherited heart conditions, yet it often goes undiagnosed. By raising awareness alongside broader heart disease education, we help people recognize risk, advocate for care, and support research that saves lives.

Why everyone belongs

Our 5Ks, walk clubs, and social events are designed for all ages and abilities. You don't need to be an athlete. You just need to show up - because movement, community, and purpose are good for every heart.

Moving communities. Inspiring hope. Supporting every heart.

Today, we host 5Ks, walk clubs, and active social events that raise awareness and funding for heart disease and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), while encouraging people of all ages and abilities to live a healthier, more connected life.
